About Consultations

What happens during a consultation?

An initial consultation lasts two hours, during which I will gather information about your present state of health and your health history and will also review lifestyle factors such as diet, sleep and exercise. During this time you will have the opportunity to set short- and long-term goals for wellness and we will work together to determine a multi-faceted, holistic plan to help you reach your best health.  In addition to a comprehensive intake questionnaire, I use tools such as pulse and tongue assessment to help to get a picture of your overall health and constitution.

Follow-up consultations last one hour, during which we will discuss new developments in your health and wellness, any changes resulting from herbal, dietary and lifestyle recommendations made in previous visits, and ways to continue meeting health goals.  I also do 30-minute mini-consultations. Because we work in partnership, I welcome your input and any adjustments to your goals as your needs change.

  

What will I need to bring with me for my first visit?

Please bring your intake questionnaire if you haven’t already provided it to me. Please also bring a list of all medications and supplements you are taking (including doses and frequency), as well as copies of any recent lab reports or bloodwork.

Where can I go to purchase herbal recommendations?

I generally have clients' custom formulations compounded at one of several local herbal dispensaries (herbal pharmacies) and shipped directly to you.

Many of the herbs or supplements or other remedies I will recommend are available at local health food stores or online.  In this case, I’ll always try let you know where you can find them near you.  Of course, you are welcome to purchase herbs and supplements anywhere you choose.

How much will my visit cost?*

Initial consultation (2 hours): $125, 
Follow-up consultation (1 hour): $85
30-minute "tune up": $55 (30 minutes)

Payment is expected at the time of your visit. The cost of an herbal consultation does not include herbs.  You may choose to buy herbs separately at the end of the consultation.  I see some of my clients through Sign of Jonah Partnerships in Health on a sliding scale--contact me if you'd like to know more about this option.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept cash, personal checks, and credit/debit cards (MasterCard and Visa).

What is your cancellation policy?

I understand that you may need to reschedule or cancel your appointment due to changes in your schedule. In order to avoid a cancellation fee, please contact me directly no later than 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment.
